God Is Not A Cosmic Joker

 God is not a sadist. Death was never his plan or his will to begin with. He doesn't send evil and death into our lives to "try us" and "make something good happen to us." The devil is the one who came along and screwed everything up at the fall. Romans says that sin came into the world and death by sin. Revelations says that DEATH and hell will be cast into the lake of fire which is the second death. It also says there will be no more death in heaven. So if death was some wonderful plan of God's it would be in heaven and he wouldn't be planning on throwing it into the lake of fire. I would take that to mean he hates death as much as we do!

 It says in Jeremiah that God has plans for us, not to harm us but to give us a hope and a future. God can take a horrible situation that THE DEVIL created and redeem it, he can make something good come out of it, he can make blessings come out of it, but he doesn't send it so that something good will happen. God is loving. He hurts when we hurt. He sent his son to die for us so we could be redeemed and live with him forever in heaven.

 When God set that angel with the flaming sword to guard the way to the tree of life it wasn't just for Adam and Eve! It was for all of us. If he answered every prayer we prayer and everybody else prays the way WE want them answered what would be the point of heaven? Why would we even try to live so we can get to heaven someday? What would be the point of Jesus? There would be no reason for Jesus to have come and died and to have had to win the victory over DEATH. You don't have to be victorious over something that was the plan all along. Because if it wasn't for Jesus we'd all still be right where the devil wants us. And he wants us  to be with him, not in heaven with God and Jesus!

 Can you tell me a better way for the devil to win than by making us think that God is the one over here killing off our babies and kids and husbands and wives and wreaking all sorts of havoc and destruction in the world and with people's minds? I most definitely can't. It says in John that the thief comes to kill and steal and destroy but that Jesus is the good shepherd. He is come so that we may have life and have it more abundantly!

 It's not any wonder that so many people turn away from God if that's what they're taught. I sure wouldn't want to follow someone who thinks it's fun to play sadistic games with my life! But I don't believe that a God of love enjoys hurting his kids so they want to follow him more. Do you do that to your kids? I don't think so and if you do I think there's other problems you may need to look into in your life.

 So next time you want to be all comforting like and tell someone that death is all a part of God's plan and his will, stop and think about it. Is that REALLY the God you know? It is really what you believe? Because if that's the kind of god you serve, you're missing out on a whole lot of something!
