When it's spring in Minnesota
And the sun is shining bright,
The snow is falling sideways
And you're blind from all the white.
When the calendar says April
All the world says spring,
The robins come from way down south
And freeze so they can't sing.
The sun comes out, the shadows part
The clouds roll back for show,
The rain comes down and bounces
And it thunders in the snow.
You go and fix the lawn mower
For when that grass is green,
But it's so cold you cannot work
Without a thermal spleen.
The sun is up, it calls to me,
"It's time! The grass is growing,"
I look outside and see the snow, say,
"Call me when you're mowing."
Hahahahaha!! Pretty true for New England, too!
